The Pinnacle Overlook offers a sweeping view of the Susquehanna River and surrounding hills of southern Lancaster and York Counties in Pennsylvania. It’s located in a rural area about forty minutes south of Lancaster City. Picnic tables and bathrooms (they may be closed in winter) are available. A couple of the best hikes in the area are accessible from the Pinnacle Overlook; The Kelly’s Run and Conestoga Trails.

There’s a parking lot for the overlook at the end of Pinnacle Road West, off of River Road in Holtwood, PA.

  1. We would like to do a service project cleaning up trash at Pinacle Overlook. I am a Venturing Crew Advisor and most of my crew are over 18.

  2. I remember camping in that area over 40 years ago on a site owned by the PP&L power company. I had a managerial job at the main office in Allentown. I had a good sized travel trailer then and the sites had electricity but not water. I, my wife, and 2 children had a pleasant time there. I don’t have a personal photo from that time, but the ones shown above bring back pleasant memories. Thanks for posting.
