Washington DC in 3 Hours

Last week I flew back to the East Coast for my brother’s wedding. He was getting married in our hometown of Lancaster, PA. My girlfriend had never been to the nation’s capitol and wanted to check it out. We had a tight schedule, but I figured we could fit it in. We did get there, but ended up having only about three hours in DC. In that short time we managed to see the Jefferson Memorial,¬†Washington Monument, The Reflecting Pool, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, The White House, Lafayette Square, The Smithsonian’s National¬†Museum of American History, and also the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington. Not bad for a few hours. We were basically jogging the whole time.

I definitely would like to have had more time to explore all the other museums on the National Mall. There are 25 of them and most are free. I would recommend at least two days in Washington DC to really have time to take in all the sights.

With all of the rushing around, I also managed to forget my camera. I did take some pics with my phone (S4), but not nearly as many as I would have liked to.

  1. Good way to sweat it out. Pictures turned out great. Been there a million x, never gets old. I always get a rocket ice cream red white and blue (or maybe it’s supposed to be the capitol). Moma is cool too, and aerospace museum and natural history museum
